Hi Rima -- Your typography work seems is really interesting to me. I've actually been thinking for a while about mathematical typography and the artistic possibilities there...

Hello, My name is Kayla. I am a second semester freshman at Lesley. I'm currently undecided and have little experience in art and design. I have never been a fan of math so this course could be a challenge for me. I just figured I would try it out, maybe it's a different way of looking at math that I might enjoy.

Hi, I'm Meagan and I'm a Senior at Lesley. I'm a Math and Middle School Education Major. First I think it's important to note, I am not an artist. I know very little about art unless you count what I know about my artistic preferences. Needless to say, I find this class as daunting as most everyone else seems to but for the opposite reason. Math is the easy stuff, art and design?...not so much. With our new mindmap assignment due next week, I started looking online to see if maybe I knew something about the connections between math and art and had maybe just forgotten it. The answer turned out to be no, but along the way I found a site called the Virtual Math Museum which has a whole section devoted to mathematical art. I found it interesting and hoped other people might as well.

Hello, My name is Eve and I am a sophomore at Lesley studying Creative Writing and Art History. So far, I've really liked the class and everything has clicked with me- especially the fractions. I can't say, howver that I'm too good at math, I really do despise it; because its always been hard for me to understand. The last math class I took was Trig in my first semester of my senior year in high school

Hey y'all - I'm Katie, a senior Photo major minoring in Art History. Well, I'm from New Orleans, studied last fall in Barcelona, Spain and will be headed to Africa for two months in the spring to volunteer and photograph. I think it will be interesting to see how this class challenges us as artists to see our daily lives (or travels) in a more mathematical light.

I'd love you to check out my work on my website www.katiecantor.com
