Columns and Beams

my house on cape cod was an old barn but was restored by my father, but as you can see it still has the old barn style beams and columns, they haven't buckled on us or collapsed in any way so from my experience the octagon shaped column and the square shaped beams work great...

What a great place! It's really lovely. It's also really nice to see the structural elements of a house rather than always having them hidden behind drywall.

I agree that it is nice to see the structural elements of a house. Not only is it interesting to look at, you can also use the beams and columns in your decorating. My grandparents like to hang baskets and herbs from the beams in their home.

Yeah this is a pretty sweet crib. It has a very cozy feel. Anyway, on a different note I noticed some hidden tessellations in the pictures. I do agree with you guys though. I would like to see more architecture with exposed structural features.
